Goals for the week

Happy Tuesday folks :)

I spent yesterday as planned, hanging out with the family, bbq-ing & catching some rays (way too many rays were caught but more on that Thursday for my non scale victory post)

Mr F cremating BBQ-ing the food

The boys waiting patiently for food

I love the way Mr F & little O are looking at each other - clearly plotting something

(why am I surprised the trampoline net never lasts long with Jakey around?)

I did not get Body Revolution done. This wasn't out of laziness, it was more to do with the blow to the head I suffered on Sunday. I have a throbbing pain over my right eye which gets worse when I jump or bend over or shake my head so basically EVERYTHING you do with Jillian.I also had no appetite yesterday which is NOT like me, especially when there is a BBQ going on! I think maybe my brother I hit my head harder than we realised.

I am going to try and do something today, I just need to see what my head allows. Running may be better so I may do C25K Week 5 day 3. If not I will make up for it when I recover.

Seeing as today is the beginning of my week due to Monday being a Bank Holiday I am linking up with

Operation Skinny Jeans

Setting goals always helps me stay on track & focused so this is a great one for me

1. Drink Drink Drink! (water that is) I don't drink anywhere near enough some days (again NOT wine - I don't have a problem drinking enough wine)

2. Get the boys homework/reading done as soon as it is issued (to save from the type of nuclear meltdown we experienced with Bailey this morning before school!)

3. No wine until Friday (OK, OK, or any other alcoholic beverage)

4. Be more present (to include switching off the laptop/phone whilst the boys are around)

OK I think that will do for this week, I don't want to over do it (kidding - sort of)

Tomorrow I shall be weighing in & Thursday I shall be posting some non scale victories.

Until then x x x

BBQ's, Beer & Bruises

Morning y'all, it is a beautiful May Bank Holiday here so no work or school, just chilling in the sun & BBQing.

Today I am linking up with.........

C25K - Week 5 - Day 2

Yesterday I did week 5 day 2 of C25K and I felt like I was flying. I didn't want to stop to walk (although I did) and when it was time to cool down, I ran for another 5 minutes. My next session is the dreaded 20 minutes straight but I know I can do it.

After my run we headed to my brothers and ended up on the beach.

It's so nice to just relax and let the kids enjoy themselves.

(does anyone else have that issue where you can re-size some of your photos and not the others? Nope just me then)

After the beach we ended up drinking some wine in my bro's garden. (yeah, you can totally tell by my grin)

<<<<<Me & my big bro x

He had a few beers and we started comparing fitness plans.

Not a good idea in a room that is about 10 ft square whilst inebriated. If he did a one legged squat, I pulled out Jillians warrior 3. Then he would have me trying knuckle push ups and I would show him sumo squat jumps.

Naturally this all progressed into him "teaching" me his fight training. The method of the day was Akido. So after being swung around, blocked, tackled and pinned he decided to show me how you would get an attacker to the floor.

Except the couch was in the way. Of my face.

The cut next to my eye & under my nose was the result. I have to say he felt reeaaally bad. And so he should. I am his little sister and you do not "Akido" them into furniture! This morning I have a head ache (that could be the wine) but thankfully no black eyes yet.

I have Workout 7 to fit in sometime today & I will fit it in. Just because it's a day off from work & school, my body doesn't know that. I am loving the results I am getting from giving Body Revolution my all and with the running, I feel I have found the perfect balance. Weigh day on Wednesday so we shall see.

No food pictures today as yesterday was chips on the beach (a must) & I will post pics of Mr F  burning cooking some fantastic food tomorrow.

Until then remember to Keep Pushing x x x

Sexy Paste & Sunday Snaps

Sorry for the delayed post, it's been a busy few days. Firstly, my new weigh in day will be Wednesday to tie in with the Weigh in Wednesday linky so more on that then.

Secondly, on Friday I did workout 8 as planned. I love workout 8 and the fact that Jillian is "grinding me into a sexy paste"

The side lunges into cross overs are a bit of a killer but are shaping my butt quite nicely thank you very much.

In fact although I didn't take any measurements before this program I have noticed that my clothes are HANGING OFF! I mean all my shorts from last summer are literally around my ankles when I fasten them and I'm pretty sure I could get in the next size down jeans if I tried. I won't be buying any jeans yet though as it is supposed to be our summertime now and I don't want to jinx the good weather!

Anyway I didn't get my run in Saturday so I am doing it this morning before we head off to the beach with my brother and his family.

Some snap shots for Sunday

Friday's breakfast - wholemeal pitta with mixed beans and mushrooms

Friday night dinner - BBQ chicken breast with roasted vegetables

The little Jake monster and me before school. Bailey said the sparkly head band made me look like a goddess! He can stay.

Boys being boys. Find them some rocks and they will climb them!

Tortilla wrap pizzas

<<<<<<<<Before

 After>>>>>>

Feta cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, red onions, jalapenos Mmmm Mmmmm
More climbing - trees this time

So I am off to get my run on, It is 7:09 am on a Sunday but I want to spend the day having fun with my family so I will GET.IT.DONE.

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend wherever you may be

Back soon with a longer post x

Halfway to Hotness & Body Rev Day 46

Day 46 - Workout 7 - Over half way Baby!

Ok so I thought I was gonna have to skip the 13th week of BR as I am going on my hols BUT I can't count so I will actually get it done right before I go. Which means I am officially over half way there! I can't believe I've been letting Jillian beat my ass for 46 days!

Workout 7 again today - I have to admit I actually had a fit of giggles (yes I am really 31 years old) watching Kenta? do the plank walk/drag. It just looks so damn ridiculous. Then when I try dragging my legs I look like someone trying to crawl away from the monster under the bed. I swear any minute somethings gonna grab me by the ankles and haul me under the table!

The jack knife/crunch is hard. I cannot fold my body in two UPWARDS. Nope just can't. So I modify it to something that still kills my abs but leaves me less feeling like a goldfish that has jumped out of it's bowl and is flapping around trying to get back in.

Those W raises with leg extensions - OWWW - they are OK the first set but after that my arms are on fire.

I like the star jumps - anything that has me jumping around like a kid is good.

Back to workout 8 tomorrow.

OK so the bit you've been waiting for after my wobble post yesterday..............

Yes I jumped on the wine waggon last night - then had 4 glasses and fell right off the back!

It did teach me something though.

See, I was remembering drinking in a good light - relaxing with a glass of wine after the kids are in bed, catching up with Mr F, watching a good movie - all of the things that I associate with drinking. The reality was a fuzzy head, falling asleep early, not sleeping well later in the night and waking up with a splitting headache. And now THAT is how I think of drinking.

So sometimes that binge that does you no good, can actually help you to realise that you didn't enjoy it and can do without.

The good thing is I didn't eat anything I shouldn't have and have woken up with even more resolve today. I will un-do any damage that I did last night, draw a line under it and move on.

I said I was going to give Body Revolution a chance to work by cleaning up my diet and sticking to my points, so I will.

Yesterday's Food

Breakfast -

Scrambled egg in wholemeal pitta & a cup of green tea with lemon

Lunch - Vegetables, couscous & chicken (you saw this yesterday)

Dinner - More couscous, roast leeks & tandoori chicken breast (sorry I had already started munching here)

plus the aforementioned (<<< did you know that was one word, I didn't) glasses of vino!

Here is my little terror with his balloon "weapon"

You can tell by his face that he's up to no good!

And here is terrorised miss Ruby sitting as far away from him as she can get.....

I have to go and pick up JJ from school now, he is supposed to be doing music club, but since his best friend didn't get in he has decided against it. For which his big brother has declared him "weird" Oh I love the drama in this house :)

Until tomorrow x x

Wobble Wednesday

I was going to title this post "Wobble Wednesday" then I thought what better way to have a wobble Wednesday post than to link up with The Naked Mum's Wobble Wednesday - Fitting, right?

Then I came across these awesome gals so I thought I'd link up with Alex & Erin  Really, you need to go check out their blogs

button

And I will post my weight of 166 lbs for this week

So today is day 3 of me being back on it - back on Body Revolution - Back on WW - back on the roller coaster of weight loss & fitness.

Day 3? I don't know why but it feels more like year 3. Counting every morsel that I put in my mouth, working up a sweat every day, planning my meals for the next week and the next. Some times it just feels like such a drag.

I don't mean to be a downer but I'm being honest. I just want this done already. Except, it never will be done will it? when I reach my goal I can't just stop working out, stop tracking, stop planning. If I do I'll be right back to being this girl

She was so happy with every aspect of her life apart from the one thing she knew she could do something about, but didn't. She was ashamed of being too weak to stand up and fight - fight to be healthy - fight to change - fight to be the pretty, skinny girl she felt like on the inside.

I won't be that girl again. She has gone and I stand in her place.

Yes I will have days when I feel like saying "is it really worth it?" I will have days where I just want to go out & have fun and forget all about points, calories and heart rates - probably a hell of a lot more often that I should!

But I will always be a fighter now.

I will fight the temptations, the bad habits, the negative feelings. One thing about fighters is that they don't always win, but the best ones always get back up. And so will I.

I have no idea why today it all feels so hard, so early on but it does.

Perhaps it's because I've been working at it a while. It could be that I'm missing the week or two of not logging and tracking, when I didn't lose anything but I didn't gain either. I could be telling myself "you don't weigh 200 lbs anymore - 166 is so much better" I don't know. All I do know is I will stay strong. If not today, then tomorrow. If I go out for wine & Pizza I know that tomorrow I will workout twice as hard and be twice as good with my logging.

I will not let one day slip into an endless stream of bad habits and excuses. I will keep pushing and reach that goal.

Yesterday I reached 2,000 page views. Now all you seasoned bloggers, please stop laughing. I know it's a tiny number really but that means that in the 3 months since I decided to put my story out there for the world to read, people have read it, 2,000 times.

I never thought anyone would be interested in the ramblings of a 31 year old mum from the very South East coast of England. I have 2 followers - 2! (thanks guys) but I guess there must be a few more of you out there who want to know the outcome of this story and I thank you for sticking with me.

I am no computer expert and have designed my banner & button all by myself and worked out how to actually display it (with a little help from google)

I am learning more each day. About everything.

If any of you have a blog and a space for my lil' ol' button, please take it and display it. Leave a comment if you do and I would love to come and visit it at it's new home. If you would like your button displayed in return or a mention on my blog list, I'm happy to return the blogger love:) And come on people FOLLOW ME! I have 2 followers, a blog I read the other day has 28,000! I mean really? (yeah but she's interesting you say)

Anyway I have no idea why I want followers or what it really means other than I need to keep posting and updating here because someone is out there and wants me to.

So if you are feeling like you can't do this today or you don't have the strength to fight for yourself,

I'm here.

I've got your back.

We can do this, one step & one day at a time - together

OK enough shameless grovelling/pity partying/tiniest violin in the world playing etc lets get down to it.

C25K Week 5 - Day 1

As you know I am currently doing Jillian Michaels Body Revolution but am substituting the Cardio workouts by doing Couch to 5K (Again!)

Not much to day about this one other than I cranked up the music, hopped on the treadmill & got it done. I love the high I get from running and the time it gives me to just let my mind wander.

Yesterday's Eats
Breakfast was again a wholemeal pitta but instead I stuffed it with half a portion of the bean mix and added 1 boiled egg. It was very satisfying and I felt good about starting my day with a nutritious meal. I also had a cup of green tea with lemon & a bottle of water.
Calories 268 (WW old points 4.5)

Lunch

A load of vegetables with a small portion of chicken & couscous (around 300 calories or 3 WW points)

For dinner I had a fillet of salmon with home made Cole slaw & salad.

For an evening snack I had a Sainsbury's low fat hot chocolate & 2 Caxton's pink & white wafers. This is probably the most processed food of the day but at only 150 calories (or 2 WW points) it feels like a sweet, warm, decadent treat and stops me craving anything else all evening.

I am off now, little O is terrorising the dog with a balloon!

Until tomorrow x x

Jillian Michaels Body Revolution Day 44

Day 44 - Workout 8

When I went to make the bed this morning and struggled to move my arms above my head I knew workout 7 had done it's magic yesterday. I didn't feel sore at all until this morning and was a bit miffed last night, I wanted to feel the burn! Well I completed workout 8 today, about half an hour ago actually and I am already having to walk down stairs side ways. My quads and glutes are SORE!

I kinda knew this was gonna be tough but a crescent pose with rear delt fly INTO warrior 3 - what was she thinking. Well I know what she was thinking - she was thinking I'm gonna burn that layer of fat right off her body with some crazy, insane moves! The pendulum lunges with balance and bicep curl will take some practice. I was a bit all over the place in that one! I found this workout fun though, there was a lot of joking and bantering going on and although some people can't stand that when they are working out, I find a little laughter helps me to push through. The rock star jumps were MAD. I was really focusing on getting as high as I could and I felt a bit like a little kid jumping up and down.

All in all a good workout & I burnt 251 calories.

Food
 Yesterday's dinner

Lean beef chilli served over white cabbage, topped with roasted leeks, mushrooms and carrots.

I really enjoyed this and didn't miss the pasta or rice I would normally have served under the chilli.

From now on I will post my meals from the day before so you get to see a whole days food at a time. So you all will have to wait to see my Delicious creations from today :)

In other news.......

1. My beloved Mr F has started his very own Body Revolution. Yes folks that's right he's jumping on the Jillian Michaels weight loss band wagon. He completed workout 1 last night and found it "not too bad" Bahahaha - just you wait!

2. The 3 monkeys LOVE my new workout mats. They are now car driving mats, Lego building mats & lets practice our cartwheels mats!

3. I have drunk so much water today I may as well just move into the bathroom!

4. My arms are getting progressively sorer as I type this - Thank you Jillian

And that is what we are all aiming for - A strong, healthy body

Until tomorrow peeps - remember to Keep Pushing x

Seaside Walks & Body Revolution Day 43

Day 43 - Workout 7

I wanted to run right up to the screen this morning and give Jillian a big 'ole kiss hello! I was raring to go. Well I was actually a little nervous to be honest. After my calorie obsession, workout overload freak out I wasn't sure if I was ready to jump right back in at workout 7 but I did and I'm glad.

There was nothing too crazy in here although there are a lot of push up/plank moves. I just kept up as best I could and when I needed to modify, I did. The plank walk feels awkward, Jillian tells you to drag your feet but when you watch some of the others they are walking their feet so that's what I did. Crow push ups look great on screen but I'm pretty sure mine did not look so graceful! still at least I was trying! The hop around the mat things were funny, I just sort of made up my own little hop pattern and kept moving. There is a move similar to one from the 30 day shred where you extend one leg whilst raising the weights above your head. Having done this before I found it ok but with 10 lb weights I'm sure I will feel it tomorrow.

I am really glad I decided to push on with this programme. It gives me such a feeling of pride that I have pushed my body to it's limits each day. I am positive that with the correct eating habits to accompany it, the results are going to be great.

Speaking of eating habits I have taken a good long look at my diet (I mean what I eat, not as in on a diet) I am trying to clean it up a lot. Cutting out white bread, white pasta, certain processed foods and replacing them with healthier alternatives. I am chugging down gallons of water (and peeing every 5 minutes) Every time I feel like having something I haven't planned for or that I know I shouldn't I am going to say to myself "can you just do it today?" If I can just get today done then I can focus on tomorrow and the next day. Taking each day one step at a time. Making the right choices just for today and worrying about tomorrow when it comes.

This mornings "cleaner" breakfast looked like this

1 wholemeal pitta bread with a spicy bean filling. I just took 1 tin of kidney beans and 1 tin of baked beans and simmered them together with some chilli powder & cumin.

I have 4 portions of this made for the rest of the week along with couscous for Mr F's lunches

Here is Saturday night's Chinese curry as promised

Tonight I am having some extra lean beef chilli from the freezer served over white cabbage instead of pasta & roasted leeks, mushrooms & carrots

I have finally found a solution to my slippy mat issues.

Interlocking play mats!

Genius!

They don't move AND I have a really pretty work space haha

Sunday afternoon we took the boys out on their bikes with my parents.

Nanny & the boys

We are so lucky to live by the coast, it was a beautiful day

Oscar & Grandad

I am feeling positive about this week, I hope you are all giving it your all and pushing onwards x
