About Me

Who am I?

Hi, & thanks for stopping by my blog! My name is Vicki (Toria to my family) and I am 32 years old.

A bit of background

I have never been tiny but never really struggled with my weight either. I could always seem to lose a few pounds to feel good about myself and it was never a big issue. Then I got married and I got pregnant (actually I got engaged, got pregnant, THEN got married at 5 months pregnant but you know what I meant)

I had our first child in 2005 and weighed in around 191 lbs. I didn't lose any weight before I got pregnant with our 2nd child in 2007. After he was born I ballooned to just over 200 lbs. I lost some weight doing couch to 5 K and when I got pregnant with our 3rd child I weighed around 176 lbs. After having him I managed to slowly get back to that weight. Then I stopped running and started eating and drinking whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted it.

My weight went back up to what you see here which is around 188 lbs

This is me in June 2012

This is one of those "this is it" photos. I though I looked good! When I saw it I knew it was time to get healthy & fit once and for all.

I started in October 2012 by counting calories on MyFitnessPal and exercising. I began running again, completed Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and started my current programme Jillian Michaels 90 day Body Revolution.

This is me today minus 24 lbs

I am still looking to lose more inches (if the lbs drop too, that's fine by me)

My current weight is around 164lbs - I don't know the exact number as I have banished the scale for a month. I know if I eat well and workout then my body will get fitter but the scale is not always my friend. I can get discouraged by it, so rather than let it define me, I will focus on my changing body and how my clothes fit!

Who are they?

I am married to Steve who for the purposes of this blog shall be referred to as Mr F.

Here he is (he's the middle one!)

Things I love

Being a stay at home mum

 Working out (mostly)
Good food & I'm also partial to the odd bottle glass of wine.

Running

Photography (not a professional but I enjoy taking pictures)

Cooking - I am certainly NOT a chef but I like to take full fat recipes and make them skinny!

Holidays with my family. Anywhere from Villas in the French countryside to the theme parks of Florida - If I can be there, I will.

Fun - I love to laugh, I love socialising with my family, I love going to movies and date nights with Mr F, I love eating out and eating crap now and again.

Basically I love life!

Why I blog

This is an easy one for me. I love to talk. I describe myself as an emotional chatterbox. I talk when I'm angry, sad, happy, bored, excited - you name it, I will chatter about it, so blogging seemed like a natural hobby.

I am also inspired by other peoples weight loss stories and fitness blogs. Many have motivated me to start a new workout programme (Thank you Phatsoslim ) or try a new healthy recipe. If I can make just one person feel inspired to get a workout done or get off the couch and go for a run, then I'm happy.

Pay it forward an' all that

It is also a way to document some of our family life. Our children grow up so fast that capturing the small things is so important to me.

I am not perfect and don't pretend to be.

I drink too much wine, I sulk & curse and I slip up.

Sometimes I will eat junk just because I want to. I  have argued with Mr F and yelled at the kids. I am just human. If people don't like it, they don't have to read it.

I am not all bad and I hope you do stick around. I'm fairly new to this blogging lark and I can only get better.

So there you go - that is me in a nutshell (may have to lose a LOT of weight before I actually fit in a nut shell but you get the picture)
